Twenty Ten!

Fri Jan 1, 2010, 3:49 PM
Happy new years, everyone!

I still can't believe it's already 2010, my graduating year. It seemed as though it was just yesterday when we were in the computer lab in 1st grade, logging in as "Students 2010", watching "Hampster Dance", looking up Harry Potter websites, and typing pangrams. It's hard to believe what seemed like so far away has already come.

Winter break has never been more stressful (but fun). Reauditions are on the day we come back to school, and my application to CalArts is due the following day.
So, until I'm ready for 25 scales, a solo performance, sight reading, 20 portfolio pieces, and an artist's statement, I should probably stay away from distractions such as deviantart.

In the mean time, look forward to seeing more of my character, Arthur in the future. Y'know, the white-haired lad with the smirk~

coming soon:
- More Christmas chibis
- Entry for *BurningAvalon

Merry Christmas!

Fri Dec 25, 2009, 11:09 AM
Heyhey, if you didn't get my message in Merry Chibi Christmas... well, I'll be accepting requests for chibis until around 2pm today! If I don't get five people by 2pm, I'll open it up for longer. I'm sorry that I couldn't get to everyone (I wanted to draw for all who regularly comment and for those who have drawn something for me), I was up until 4 drawing these and for some of them I wasn't sure what to draw. = 3=

I hope you're enjoying your holiday.
Thank you for such a wonderful year!

Also, thank you to all who stopped by at my livestream! I hardly got anything done, but whatever. It was fun. XD

HEY EVERYONE

Well that was interesting. Unfortunately I did not have tea with trumpets. I mean. Tea and crumpets.

"PATRICIA VA A CALIFORNIA" IS LIKE THE BEST BOOK EVER. NOT.
Speaking of languages, our flute coach asked us, "What is music?" and went around the section for answers. The answer he was looking for was "a language", but we kept giving him complex answers regarding the evocation of emotions and whatnot. This is what happens when you go to a school flooded with AP Students and overachievers.

Sorry for the spam of journals. I should probably stop that.

Winter Show
If you're around the area, come to our annual winter show, "Santa and the Symphony"! I'll be in four performing groups. You'll love it, I promise!

CalArts
So after much speculation and pressure from parents, I've decided I'm ONLY applying to ONE art college. I was going to try for RISD but decided that an out of state school would cost me more than I'd make once I graduate. The application is due in the beginning of January, and I still need quite a few pieces for my portfolio. That's probably why you saw my studio art pieces in my scraps (I can't believe you sillies watch my scraps). I (well, ~Nekochan33 actually) took digital copies of my art at school and had to find a way for me to have access to them at home.

Christmas
I might actually give people artsy gifts this year! XD It really depends on how much and for who, though, because I'll be working on my application to CalArts. > 3<

OCT
What's this, what's this? (cue Nightmare Before Christmas song)
Not saying anything yet.

MLIA
If you don't already read mylifeisaverage.com, you should start. It's an epic distraction and makes fun conversation starters. Here's my favorite of the day:
"Today I asked a french bloke if he played video games. He said Wii. MLIA."

Yeeaahh, I'll end on that.

APPOGGIATURA

Music theory hates me. Double dotted notes and irregular meters are the weirdest things ever. I mean, 7/8th notes? 5/4 time signature with 5 (2+3 or 3+2) beats in one measure? So much math! I just want to play music!

Uh, just wanted to get that other journal off my page. I'll edit this entry with something more meaningful later. Eventually.
