She's moving on to her senior year after the summer's over, and she's not too excited about leaving high school or applying to colleges... Cecily is still 16, and she experiences things every teenager faces. Each of us was at once trying to find our place in this world and to discover who we are. We all find that our innocence slips away at one point or another during our youth. It's an inevitable trait of humans- and Cecily is only discovering that there is so much in this world- as well as other worlds- that she is unaware of. Cecily has an unusual fascination with female martyrs, especially Joan of Arc, Saint Cecilia, and perhaps even Saint Therese of the Child Jesus.
