Will scrap later.

Some people assume that I have "dark" influences, like Tim Burton and Edgar Allen Poe. That's not necessarily the case. My inspiration comes from classical contemporary music, mostly. Repetitions, patterns, their meaning, and a reflection on the whole composition. "Dark" often has a different meaning in music.

What was your inspiration for this artwork? She is a librarian but there are no library influences in the picture ... Have you ever drawn any type of library artwork?

Hm, in compositions such as these, I wouldn't necessarily call it dark. In a literal sense it is due to the natural contrast of black and white. However in the figurative sense, I don't think it is. I've seen different compositions that show a little darker arrangements.

In any case, I really like this one. The trees and what appears to be leafs that end up surrounding the character is quite intriguing. Very well done.
